City History: Wasilla, Alaska was founded in 1917 after a government land auction that brought hundreds of settlers. Located near the Alaska Railroad the desirable location of Wasilla made it a perfect supply point for the many miners working in the area. The town continued to grow, in 1974 it was incorporated into a city. Today, industry in Wasilla, Alaska is mainly in the areas of fabrication, agriculture and manufacturing.

Weather: Wasilla offers warm summers with average high temperatures of near 70 degrees. Winter in Wasilla is fairly mild, you can expect an average high temperature of approximately 30-35 degrees.
